Charlottesville's Philanthropic Networking Club
Cville Gives is a philanthropic giving circle made up of locals pooling our resources and efforts to make a greater impact in our community.
In our 3rd year, the 2018-2019 grant cycle, members selected Blue Ridge Area Food Bank as the recipient of our $10,000 grant. In total, we raised around $23,000 that went to local non-profits helping to address the issue of food insecurity in our community. Look what an impact we can all make when we come together and give collectively.

Cville Gives members Mike Buczynski and Maggie Thornton spoke with Michael Gutherie over at Newsradio Wina about our exciting second grant and how to get involved in year three!
2019-2021 MEMbER Enrollment
For those interested in joining Cville Gives, we ask for a minimum contribution of $200 paid in full or in installments with your credit card. We ask for couples to donate $350 and you may self-identify as such. Each contribution will be added to the larger giving circle. For our 4th grant, we’ve decided to pool our resources for two years, so join by the Spring of 2021 in order to vote on this cycle’s winner — the earlier you join, the more opportunities you will have to participate in member only events! In return for your contribution, members receive the following benefits:
- Invitation to members-only events and volunteer activities
- Discounted rates at local co-working space Common House
- Exposure to Cville’s non-profit landscape
- Insight into the philanthropic grant-making process
- Opportunity to have an outsized impact on the Cville community
